Kaya Ahissar

Kaya and Docs Star Benz: 3-year-old and 4-year-old Israeli Futurity Champion and Israeli Derby Reserve Champion

During his army service, Kaya was recognized as a professional athlete which enabled him to continue training and coaching on a daily basis. Right after finishing the army, in addition to continuing training and coaching, he began working as a professional instructor at courses for riding instructors.

In 2004, Kaya started his own business and opened a stable in Moshav Bnei Zion.  This became the leading stable in Israel for: horse boarding, training, riding school and youth competition team.  During the same period, about a year after his release from the army, Kaya's sports career began to gain speed.

At the age of 27, Kaya left Israel for a six-week training course in the U.S.  This trip opened his eyes to the true size and quality of the reining horse industry.  Soon after, he decided to move to the states to pursue his career.  During his two year stay in the U.S., Kaya worked as an assistant trainer and non-pro coach for some of the best reining trainers in the world.  In 2012, after aquiring new experience, skills, techniques and knowledge, Kaya returned to Israel.

In 2013 Kaya started his new business, Kaya Performance Horses, at Noam Ranch in Kibbutz Netser Sereni; an equestrian sports facility among the best in the country.  Over the course of two years, Kaya reestablished himself as a leading trainer in Israel and returned to the world of equestrian competitions there.

Together with his wife, Kim, Kaya has opened his own stables in Kfar Neter, central Israel.  "KPH Stables is the dream place for every rider, horse owner, and trainer.  The top quality facility is perfect for training, breeding and raising young horses."

Kaya is one of the most decorated riders in the western riding division in Israel to this day.

Kaya began showing horses 22 years ago at the age of 13.   At the age of 15, he won his first championship in Novice Reining and at the age of 17, he left his parent’s house in the Galilee to pursue his dream of being a reining trainer and coach.  He has been coaching and training professionally for the past 16 years.

His personal achievements began at a young age.  Kaya and his team earned numerous titles in reining and all-around before and during his service in the Israeli army.  He credits his success during this period to his outstanding team of youth riders and to the establishment of the quality Youth League for Western Riding in Israel.  Today, several of his youth riders have gone on to become professional trainers themselves.
